How to export PDF pages as PNG
- 1
Add a PDF
One document or several. ToolSpruce reads them locally.
- 2
Choose sharpness
Screen is smaller. Balanced fits most pages. Sharp is better for small type and makes a larger PNG.
- 3
Download the PNGs
A one-page PDF downloads as a single PNG. More pages come as a ZIP named by page number.
Good to know
PNG is the right export when a page has text, a diagram, or a screenshot and you want a lossless picture. JPG is smaller for photos. PNG keeps hard edges from going fuzzy, at the cost of a larger file.
Each page is drawn with PDF.js on this device, the same renderer as PDF to JPG, then saved as PNG. A one-page PDF downloads as one PNG. More pages download as a ZIP. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. The text in the PNG is not selectable, because it is a picture of the page.
Frequently asked questions
Why PNG instead of JPG for a PDF page?
PNG does not add JPEG blur to text and flat colors. Use PDF to JPG when the page is a photograph and file size matters more.
Can I still select the text?
No. You get a picture of each page. Keep the original PDF when you need to copy text or search it.
How do multi-page PDFs download?
Each page is its own PNG. If there is more than one image, they download together as a ZIP.
Are pages uploaded for rendering?
No. PDF.js draws them on this device. The worker file is part of ToolSpruce, not a conversion service.
